I have played countless of rounds of vingt-et-un. I started sneaking into the gambling halls when I was 16. I have bet on online chemin de fer, I have counted cards, and worked with a team for a little while. With all that said I have still spent a lot of bankroll at blackjack. The gambling halls have made it almost impossible to beat the house.
I still like the game and bet on a frequent basis. Over the years I have enjoyed a variation of 21 called "The Take it Leave it Method". You certainly won’t get rich with this tactic or defeat the casino, still you will experience a lot of fun. This method is centered on the fact that 21 seems to be a game of runs. When you are hot your on fire, and when you’re not you’re NOT!
I play basic strategy chemin de fer. When I do not win I wager the table minimum on the next hand. If I do not win again I wager the table minimum on the next hand again etc. Whenever I hit I take the winnings paid to me and I wager the initial bet again. If I win this hand I then leave the winnings paid to me and now have double my original bet on the table. If I succeed again I take the winnings paid to me, and if I succeed the next hand I leave it for a total of 4 times my original bet. I continue betting this way "Take it Leave it etc". Once I do not win I lower the bet back down to the original sum.
I am very disciplined and do not "chicken out". It gets extremely fun at times. If you succeed at a few hands in sequence your bets go up very fast. Before you know it you are gambling $100-200/ hand. I have had great runs a couple of times now. I departed a $5 table at the Palms a few years ago with $750 after 45 mins using this tactic! And a few days ago in Macau I left a game with $1200!
You need to understand that you can give away a lot faster this way too!. But it really makes the game more thrilling. And you will be aghast at the runs you notice wagering this way. Here is a guide of what you would bet if you kept winning at a $5 table.
Wager $5
Take five dollar paid to you, leave the initial $5 wager
Bet $5
Leave 5 dollar paid to you for a total wager of ten dollar
Bet $10
Take $10 paid-out to you, leave the original ten dollar wager
Bet $10
Leave ten dollar paid-out to you for a total bet of twenty dollar
Bet $20
Take twenty dollar paid to you, leave the first $20 wager
Bet twenty dollar
Leave twenty dollar paid to you for a total wager of 40 dollar
Bet 40 dollar
Take $40 paid-out to you, leave the first $40 bet
Wager forty dollar
Leave forty dollar paid-out to you for a total bet of eighty dollar
Bet $80
Take 80 dollar paid to you, leave the original 80 dollar wager
Wager 80 dollar
Leave 80 dollar paid-out to you for a total wager of one hundred and sixty dollar
Bet one hundred and sixty dollar
Take $160 paid-out to you, leave the original 160 dollar bet
If you left at this moment you would be up 315 dollar !!
It is iffy to go on a streak this long, but it often happen. And when it does you must NOT deviate and lower your wager or the end result won’t be the same.
